Our House

We have recently decided to put our house on the market as we need to move to South London.
We had a photographer come round to take some photos yesterday for the agent so I thought it would be a good opportunity to share my current home with you. Unfortunately the day the photos were taken it was quite dull outside so the rooms don't look as bright as they do normally! I will definitely add some more photos showing some of the little details another day.

The Master Bedroom

This used to be a white and aqua coloured room but recently I decided to add some dusty pink and grey touches to the room, some of which you are not able to see from this photo, I will add some more photos soon. I have always wanted to change the wardrobe as it was here when we bought the house but now as we are thinking of selling the house there doesn't seem to be much point.

Zayd's Nursery

This is Zayd's Peter Rabbit Nursery you can't really see from this shot but there are quite a few Peter Rabbit pieces in the room. I absolutely loved Peter Rabbit as a child and thought it would make a nice theme for a nursery especially as the illustrations are very classic.
I bought the Large canvas and cot bedding from The Pottery Barn Kids in America as I couldn't find much to choose from here. I particularly love the pastel green shade as I thought it was nice to have something different from the usual blue nursery for a boy.
We have the Ikea Hemnes daybed in here which is handy as we tend to have quite a lot of visitors.

Loft Room

This room is probably the least used room in the house but it has been very useful when we have a house full of guests! The trunk is a vintage trunk that my grandmother gave me I absolutely love it. I have been meaning to paint the bedside table that is in this room as I bought it from a car boot sale probably 3 years ago with the intention of painting it white (just never got round to it!)
The linen cushions with french wording are from H&M home they have some fabulous things for the home.

Bathroom

This bathroom was one of the projects that we immediately did when we moved in as the original bathroom was in a terrible state. Larbi (bless him) did all the tiling, when I told him I wanted the whole wall tiled from ceiling to floor he wasn't amused when he saw the size of the tiles I bought!!!!
We previously had a shower over the bath in the old bathroom but we extended the bathroom into a cupboard that was in Zayd's room so that it would allow more space to be able to have a separate shower. The extended part is where the sink and toilet are now. To see how much of a difference this made I will add some of the old photos at some point even if they are dreadful!

The Lounge

This room has a very rustic feel to it it probably doesn't fit in with the rest of the house's decor as I feel this room is quite masculine. We bought the cowhide rug from a stall in the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul in true turkish fashion we even had some tea whilst we negotiated the price! The cushions are from Argentina I found a website selling them and had them shipped to me.
Eventually when we move I will try and tie this room in with the rest of my style, I will probably go for a different sofa.

One thing I particularly love about this room is the oak TV stand which you can just about see in this photo this was bought from a carpenter who tailor makes furniture and sells it on eBay, it's amazing how many people have asked me about it.

Dining Room

This room is part of extension that was here when we bought the house it's an added bonus especially as it is usually so light and airy it's one of most popular rooms in the house.

Kitchen

This room has probably been one of the most creative projects of the house as we didn't want to overspend on the house we jut made a few changes all of which cost under £500 (excluding the flooring). I painted the cupboards white as they were cream coloured before, I also changed the handles as they were previously black wrought iron handles. We installed a new solid oak worktop, the travertine tiles were left over from the bathroom so Larbi changed the tiles we had to give it more of an updated look we also changed the tap to a more modern tap fitting. We had the oak flooring installed all the way through the downstairs of the house.

    1. I know I absolutely love Peter Rabbit I will try and take some more photos of the room so you can see all the other bits I have (I think I went a bit overboard!) That's such a coincidence you had Peter Rabbit in Luke and Matts's room also, I would love to see the pics of the quilts and curtains. Unfortunately I haven't been to the shop but when I was pregnant and in the "nesting" stage I was constantly on the online shop buying bits for his room! xxx
